I failed to advise the amount of collection of change we gathered for the under privileged children … $12.57. I took it to the gathering on Sunday week ago. High donor was $2300.00. Wow! I told the children how our money would help to buy children with less money food to eat and clothes to wear. The pre-schoolers understand but it’s, of course, too much for the younger ones. But it was fun for the children to bring their change and put in the jar. Thank you for participating.
We have had a great week. We had an emergency drill on Monday and practiced our “stop, drop & crawl” to the nearest exit. Everyone has the drill down. We continued our study of Noah and the Ark … the animals were safe in the ark that God told Noah to build. This week in math we have been working on sequencing our numbers by putting them in order and correlating counted objects to the correct number. The younger ones are learning to count out loud and looking at the printed number. Literacy was all about the letter “F” with lots of coloring sheets and workbook exercises. In Science we have been making associations of the things that are going on with the weather and our season of Fall. In Art we made an awesome pumpkin tissue paper collage which resembles a stained glass window. On Thursday we played with our favorite … play dough. This month we were supposed to play with modeling clay but I was disappointed in the hard texture and it just didn’t work … so we gave up on the modeling clay and made it a day for play dough.
Next week we will have “Show & Tell” on Friday. Children are invited to bring an item from home that somehow relates to the month’s activities. This month we have studied the letters “D”, “E”, & “F”, we have examined the color “orange”, we have talked a lot about the season “Fall”, and we have enjoyed exploring the world of dinosaurs. Also please make your child’s show & tell item something that will fit in his/her cubby. We missed our Pajama Day this month but will have another next month. November calendars will be in your child’s art folder next week.
We have two new friends starting on Monday. Charles who will be one in December and David who was three this past August … these two new guys are brothers and taking the place of Avery who is staying with her grandmother now and filling the last opening. Library books are in the pre-schoolers art folders. Workbooks will go home next week. Have a blessed weekend and I will see everyone on Monday.

I strive to honor God in everything I do. I enjoy motorcycles, motorboats and scuba diving. I love my husband and my family and I adore my grandchildren. I have always had a heart for children. If children are around, I'm frequently the one on the floor playing with them. After 20+ years in HR, Accounting & Office Management, I chose a self employed venue in child care with aspirations of making a difference in the lives of children. I am a certified Professional Child Care Administrator licensed with the TDPRS to care for twelve children, ages infant thru pre-kindergarten. I employ one full-time assistant. I love my job but it's hard to let go when it's time for the children to move on. Even though they are not my grandchildren, I bond with them as if they were. Alas, tis the nature of the business. But if I can instill in them an excitement for learning, sow a few Godly seeds in their lives, if they can see Jesus thru me, it's certainly worth it.
About Ms Meagan
Megan has worked with children for many years both in the day school and Bible school environment. After trying her hand as a Paralegal, she decided to change her career path, go back to school and is now enrolled in college courses both on-line and at night at a local community college. Megan is focusing on a degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development. Working here at GHD will provide her opportunities of practical application and she likes the aspect that it will allow her time to work on her studies while the children are napping. She anticipates staying with us for three years while she continues her studies and then pursues a career in the field of Early Childhood Education. I’m thrilled with the direction God has led me in finding Megan.
