This week we have examined the letter “H” and the number “3”. (A mistake on the published calendar. November’s number is 3 and the shape is a square. “Sorry”) We played dress up as Indians, practiced our table manners learning how our places should be set and where we should put our cup, etc. We did something a little different this week and baked pumpkin seeds and then sprinkled them with salt and parmesan cheese. Some liked them … I didn’t. LOL! We are also working on using our thumb and first finger, with the aid of pinchers, to pick up small objects. This is a skill that must be developed and certainly does not come naturally. Fun to watch. Our brown color day was a huge success. The children are getting a kick out of bring things from home to show their friends. Thanks to all the parents that work so hard to help their child participate. Even little Emma wore brown. LOL!
Have you ever seen a lion in the zoo? Lions are big and strong and scary animals, aren’t they? Our Bible story is about man named Daniel and some very scary lions. Daniel knew that God is stronger and greater than anything or anyone else in the world. Daniel loved and obeyed God in everything he did. When Daniel grew up he became a very important man. Only the king, who was his friend, was more important than Daniel. Daniel believed in God and always tried to do what was right. Some bad men who were jealous of Daniel wanted to get him into trouble; so they had King Darius make a law that anyone who prayed to anyone or anything except King Darius would be thrown in with the lions. Daniel would not stop praying to our God and the king soon realized the bad men suggested the law only to get Daniel in trouble. King Darius asked Daniel to pray to his God to keep him safe. The next day the king saw Daniel curled up with the lions sleeping. Daniel told the king that God had sent an angel to shut the mouths of the lions and keep him safe. How happy the king was to know his friend was safe. Daniel had trusted and obeyed God, and God had kept him safe.
Room addition is advancing nicely. I don’t think we will be in by the end of next week as previously stated but it’s very close. Plumbing, air conditioning, electrical are all in. Cabinets are designed. I suspect sheet rock will begin on Monday. Very exciting. The toddlers get excited now when they hear the sounds of work. I’ve taken them out there several times to run a few laps around the room. They all realize we will be in our new room soon.
Have a fabulous weekend. The Lord bless you and keep you safe.
