A short week this week with Friday being July 4th. Exercise and Pledge of Allegiance every morning as soon as everyone arrives. And this week we had fun talking about the festivities that are going to occur on the fourth. We looked at many pictures of fireworks, made lots of “kaboom” sounds, talked about freedom (key word being “free”), read two cute books called “Tommy celebrates the 4th of July” and “Happy Birthday America”, sang Happy Birthday to American & had fun with celebration play as we marched around the house holding high our American flags. Perhaps in your weekend activities you might want to make mention of our country having its’ birthday as we celebrate with fireworks like great big candles on a cake. “KABOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!”

On Monday & Wednesday we played with our Lego and Duplo building blocks which seem to be one of the favorites. Everyone loves to build but we have to work fast before Davis and Bryce have fun knocking down the tall structures. This has always been a great activity for team building and parallel play. The kids love it and engages all ages.

Tuesday was our only water day this week. As a friendly reminder … please remember to send a plastic bag for your little one’s wet clothes.

My daughter, Stacy, worked for me on Thursday as I had to attend a funeral of a friend. It was a light day ……….. Alex & Preston were not here and Carter & Sloane left early for an early holiday start. Stacy will also work for me next week on Tuesday through Friday while Ms Sandra is on vacation. Stacy will be with the toddlers while I care for the infants.

Have a fun long weekend and be careful celebrating on the fourth. If you are traveling, as several of you are, I pray for safe travels and joyous visits with family and friends.

Blessings to all.
