Hi Parents,
Welcome to a brand new school year beginning Tuesday,
September 2nd, first day after Labor Day. I am taking
advantage of the three day weekend and expanding it to a week and will be away
Sept 2-5. In my absence, Jessie will be in charge with Victoria Nance
assisting. I have light lessons scheduled for Jessie to lead. This
year we have a new theme, new curriculum ideas and lots of new fun.
As you have seen in the classroom our new theme is supported by the many hot
air balloons. The goal is to instill an attitude of soaring to higher
levels of learning as we go up, up and away learning big new things always
remembering there is no limit because the sky is the limit to what we can
learn. I love the song Happy and the line “clap your hands if you
feel like a room without a roof”. So well put for an attitude of no
limits to what we can accomplish.
Supply fees are now due. As stated in my handbook a
supply fee of $50.00 is due every August for children who will be 12 months of
age on September 1st. Andrew is the only one not in this
group. Even Graham and Truman will come to the table for craft activities
and some of our games and lessons. Please include this fee in your next
week’s check.
This school year we will have a gymnastics class every
Thursday morning beginning September 4th, 10:15 – 11:00, led by
Tyrone Smith of X-Factor Tumbling & Cheer. Coach Ty has been teaching
a tumbling and gross-motor program to children of all ages for 28 years.
The program includes balance beam, mini tramp vault and floor tumbling. I
was introduced to Coach Ty at one of my daycare training classes and was able
to see some of his students perform … quite impressive. Coach Ty has
three daycare customers in this area that are all members of my daycare association
who highly recommend him. He will accept children who are 2 ½ years
and he agreed to allow our 2 year Cade to participate. To
participate in this program you must complete a Registration Application Form
(now available at sign in/out sheet) and submit to me with your monthly check
for $25.00 per child made payable to Ty Smith. Please do this as quickly
as possible. I will collect the forms and checks and have ready for Ty
when he arrives each month. While gymnastics are in session, Jessie will
have those children who are too young for this program in the infant room to
play.
For those who have not sent your email with a few personal
pics of your child/family and child’s responses to questions for our hot air
balloon craft, please do so as soon as possible. I still need a little
time to make it ready in a useable size/format. Thank you so much.
I know it seems we have a lot going on all at once and I’m
sorry if it seems to be too much. We are going to have a lot of fun and
your children are going to be thrilled. Thank you for allowing me to care
for your child.
