Greetings daycare moms and dads,

We began the week with our Bible study talking about Jesus washing the feet of his disciples as I demonstrated by washing Aiden’s feet.  Jesus, who is God’s son and a very important person, acted as a servant and washed the feet of His friends.  What does that mean to us?  Jesus wants us to know that we are to help our friends and do for our friends and take care of our friends.  We can do this every day even with our daycare friends.  Although the children got a chuckle, it was truly a teachable moment.

Monday was St Patrick’s day and we had a lot of fun with our St Patrick’s crafts and talking about the shamrock.  On Tuesday we reviewed our Scholastic magazine – Spring – studied the letter “U”, and read a story entitled Umbrellabird’s Umbrella.  Wednesday’s scheduled activities changed with Preston being out sick so we made a fabric collage about the number 7.

Thursday was the first day of spring and we had a lot of fun activities that day.  Our video, Where is Spring?, showed the flowers beginning to bloom, the baby birds that had just hatched and the mother bird feeding her babies worms that she had dug up.  Coloring sheets and binoculars we made to view spring.  Outside we used the binoculars to look for bugs and butterflies.  Preston’s mom brought their 7 month old spaniel Georgia and the kids had much fun playing with her.  Running by a bush, Georgia managed to shake a pretty white butterfly from a branch sending the children into a fun chase.

Megan brought her new movie Frozen on Friday for the children to enjoy.  Such a cute movie.  Truly enjoyable for me as well.  Congratulations to Meredith, Steve and Preston upon the arrival of new baby Andrew born 12:50am on 3/22.  Steve arrived to pick up Preston on Friday saying, “Come on Preston, Andrew is coming!  So exciting.  God bless you guys.  Feeling the love.  ;-)

Have a glorious weekend with your family.
