What a fabulous first week of the new year we have had. All the children were elated to get back to our planned activities and what a treat to have such a fun subject as planets, etc.
On Monday’s Bible day we reviewed Jesus’ birth, how he was born in Bethlehem and visited by the Wise Men, how he traveled with Mary and Joseph to Nazareth, how he grew from a young boy to a man and how he was baptized by John the Baptist.
All week we have enjoyed discovering about our solar system. Hanging a ceiling solar system, working on our countdown book for the month, enjoying our space flash cards and the great new books about space adventures … all the children have been very excited. We also studied the letter “M”, the number “5”, on our science day we played with containers of water and straws blowing our air into the containers and making bubbles discussing volume and how everything takes up space and much more. We are also talking about foods and the food groups and how the right kinds of foods act as fuel for our bodies just like rockets are fueled. On Friday we helped Aaron celebrate his third birthday with a big bday iced cookie, hats and balloons provided by Aaron’s Mom. What a treat for everyone.
Ms Cassima has been here all day this week to help me gradually ramp up my activity with the children. Some days I admit I overdid it but by the end of the week, I was able to see a marked improvement. Ms Cassima will be with us every afternoon only this next week and is available for the week thereafter if needed. I have had such great help during this process.
Early notice …… we will have a show and tell day the last Wednesday of January for the letters “M, N, & O”. I will remind you as time gets closer but please be thinking about it so your child can participate.
Hugs to all.
