Greetings to all,

I noticed I failed to send my email last week so I have much to communicate and catch up on. Ava and Emma play with the toddlers frequently and the toddlers are very careful and loving with the little ones. Ava, who has been pulling up to things for a while now, has started standing alone. And Sloanie is now sleeping with the boys on her own mat. Wow, lots of progress.

The last two weeks have been a heavy concentration on instilling good behaviors. We began with the recognition of Martin Luther King on the 19th talking about being friends to everyone. Since then we have focused on Sesame Street’s My First Manners series with Let’s Share, Working Together, Please & Thank You, Be Polite, Taking Turns, Good For You, All About Feelings, and Be A Friend. As you can well imagine with a class of toddler boys, we’ve had a few issues of hitting and biting of late so we are really concentrating on talking about these. These cute little books have played very nicely.

Even though our outside play area is ready with brand new sodded grass, it been too cold most of the days. We managed to play outside a few days and the children love the new area. I got tickled today when some of the children wanted to show their mommies the new back yard through the window.

The Gracious Mother Goose posters really made an impression on me. So much so that I made a reduced sized copy as a keepsake for the toddlers. I hope you enjoy.

Art folders went home today for January. Sloanie took her art folder home for the first time today. Having just turned one year this past November she has been too young to participate until now. She’s still very young but she sits at the activity table with the toddlers and is beginning to participate in the craft activities. I have had so much fun watching the skills of these little guys improve each month. In addition to the crafts and paper projects, we have many counting and vocabulary activities that we do almost daily. I’m thrilled with the vocabulary that is bubbling up. It’s hard to say what my favorite age is until I have a delightful conversation with Landon, Preston, Carter or Jett as they tell me about some exciting adventure they had over the weekend. Even Aaron and Xander are putting strings of words together to convey a thought. It won’t be long before Davis, Cooper and Bryce are able to express more than their darling one word conversations. I do so love the little guys.

February will be a fun month as we prepare for and celebrate Valentine’s Day. February’s color is PINK and our color day is the 11th. I don’t know what to tell the parents of the boys about wearing something pink and bringing something pink for show & tell except just do the best you can. I’ll send another email immediately after this one with the February calendar attached. I already have several pictures attached to this email. Color copies will be available on Monday … which also happens to be Groundhog Day!

You, moms and dads, are all so very dear to me. I’m always so thankful you and your child are in my life. Have a blessed weekend.
