The kids seem to love the new play area in the front yard. Anything new is always a treat. Monday afternoon we practiced counting with magnetic cookies and cookie jars on metal cookie sheets which was lots of fun. Tuesday’s water day was especially fun with the ladybug sprinkler under the tree. Wednesday and Thursday were cooler days and we spent the majority of the day outside as it was pretty noisy in the house with the demolition going on in the back yard.
Several were still sick this week. Even Ms Sandra and Ms Karen felt the effects of this tummy bug. It’s been hard to know to keep children home with this bug because no one ever ran much of a temp. The germs were passed all the same and almost all experienced it a bit.
This has been a bitter sweet week as we said good bye to two of our sweet boys. Gavin’s mom works downtown now and discovered it more convenient to use a daycare close to her work. Alex’s mom who is pregnant with twin girls, asked if I could take the twins when they arrive but I sadly had to decline. So Alex is moving on to the daycare where his new baby sisters will be making it more convenient for Mom with all the children being at one location. We will miss these two little guys.
We welcomed Nash back this week coming on Monday, Wednesday & Friday through the end of August. Jett was so glad to be back with his friends after being on vacation for two weeks and expressed his love for each child with a sweet hug for everyone. Bryce and Davis are both walking many steps at a time. Their favorite mode of travel is still crawling but they are well on their way. Sloane is the next one making great strides in development as she crawls everywhere and pulls up to everything. She will catch up to those boys soon. Carter’s vocabulary is progressing well. We work with flash cards with all the toddlers every day to build their vocabulary. Aaron is another one really expressing himself these days and showing great steps toward conversation. Cooper has grasped several words in sign language and says a few understandable words. Xander has settled in and loves being with us as he interacts with all the children very nicely. Preston has really caught on to soccer. He kicks the soccer ball all over the yard and amazingly has really good control of the ball for a guy his age. The only one I didn’t mention is our baby Ava who is still very young. She’s such a sweetie and brings Sandra and I great pleasure in caring for her.
Have a great weekend.
Blessings to all.
