We’re off to a fabulous summer start.
Every day we have said the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag. We stand facing our flag, we are learning to put our right hand over our heart, and we say the pledge. Almost everyone is able to say a word or two. We are also exercising every morning. This is lots of fun and good for Ms. Karen as well.
Tuesday we had our first water day. Lots and lots of fun. We played in the sprinklerd water via a blow up dolphin sprinkler. It doesn’t really matter what the device to be used is, as long as everyone can get wet. A few are still getting used to the sprayed water but most everyone enjoyed. Standing water on the table, slides, or ground (making mud) was a big hit. So, at the end of our water play, everyone was wet and muddy. I threw everything in the washer but sorting clothes back to the proper owner was a bit of a challenge. A few things went home to the wrong owner so I hope to be better organized in the future. If you would like to label your child’s clothing items, that would help. But not a problem. Wednesday was not a scheduled water day but Preston and Carter decided to make it one and turn on the water anyway getting everyone wet again. Oooooooooops!! On Friday we had our second “scheduled” water day using the spray attachment on the water hose and large water bottles with squirt caps. Such fun. However …….. after playing with the water bottles that can squirt, your child may decide to do the same with your drinking water bottle so be aware. Hahahaha
Wednesday we talked about Jesus being God’s son and our forever friend. We all prayed together asking God to come play with us and guide us as we play with each other. We thanked God for giving us His son Jesus. And we asked Jesus to come into our hearts and live in us.
We have had beautiful days of play outside … always in the morning as it is just too hot in the afternoon.
Friday was Grace’s last day with us. We all gave Grace hugs and kisses because she will be greatly missed. Ms Sandra and I took turns throughout the day loving on Grace because I knew the final good-bye would be tearful otherwise. So when Mom and Dad arrived to pick up Grace, I was ready ……. Until they told me all the sweet things they did which made me blubber up. Alas, tis a tough part of this job. Grace will begin her “big girl” school on Monday. Our new addition is Jacob Nelson, who attended here through the end of 2007 and is back for the summer. Carter, Preston and Alex were glad to see Jacob and visa/versa. I was pleased they remembered each other.
I’m taking summer pictures and will post to the blog monthly. I will also advise you of new posts.
Blessings to all
