On Monday Ms Cassima led the study on Bible day entitled God Made A Promise introducing the classic story of Noah’s Ark. It is such a popular story with the little ones, it is entertaining and it teaches a lot of good lessons about obedience. The people before the flood disobeyed God time and time again. Noah was obedient – he did as God asked and God saved Noah and the animals. As we talked about last month, God is our loving Creator and this month we discover how God saved the obedient man. Tuesday we wrapped up our talk about “I Can Be Me” by measuring our height on the giraffe growth chart on the wall and then making enough hand prints to glue one on top of the other on paper to make a measurement of our height. We listened to our heart beats and talked about how Jesus lives in our hearts and guides us when we ask Him in. We are all special. God made us all special. And God loves each and every one of us in a very special way. Wednesday was a day to review A, B, C in a very relaxed and fun way. Lots of matching games and the group shouting letter recognitions. We watched our Reading Early DVD and just had a fun day.
We began our study of dinosaurs for October. This is a new subject for us this year and from seeing the children’s excited reception, one I know we will repeat every year. On Thursday and Friday we worked on the first two pages of our book “If I Had A Dinosaur”. Our book tells us that dinosaurs like to eat lima beans!!! So we had to eat lima beans for lunch on Thursday. LOL! Thursday’s math day was all about counting dinosaurs, using our dinosaur counting cards, sorting dinosaurs and Friday we practiced pairing up dinosaur cards and then played a memory game with those cards. I just have to tell you, we have some mighty smart kids in this little group. We said goodbye to Mylie this week who was with us for only two weeks. We send prayers of God’s blessings with Mylie for her and her family. On Monday we will welcome baby Teagan, Jett’s new baby sister.
Hugs to all.
